"Gira Deportiva a Mar del Plata 2016"

La "Gira Deportiva a Mar del Plata 2016" se fue transformando poco a poco de un proyecto en una realidad. Los alumnos del Nivel Medio compitieron en football y hockey,  y dentro de las actividades recreativas realizaron: visita a las playas, canotaje, partidos de metegol, ping pong, pool, etc.

El principal objetivo de cualquier viaje educativo debe ser la formación integral de los estudiantes y este fue nuestro compromiso.

Docentes y alumnos disfrutaron del viaje y les agradecemos su participación.

¡Cuatro alumnos del Colegio Norbridge competirán en la etapa final de la Olimpíada Matemática Ñandú 2016!

Finalmente llegaron los resultados de la penúltima etapa de las Olimpíadas Ñandú 2016, de la cual participaron 21 alumnos repartidos en los tres niveles. Los alumnos que pasaron esta etapa directamente participan de la final nacional a llevarse a cabo en la ciudad de Mar del Plata, del 26 al 28 del mes de octubre del corriente año.

Avanzaron a la última etapa de esta prestigiosa competencia cuatro alumnos de nuestra querida escuela primaria.
Ellos son: Avril, Felipe y Santiago de sexto grado (participantes del segundo nivel) y Giuliana de séptimo grado (participante del tercer nivel) que participarán en Mar del Plata .
Este esfuerzo de nuestros alumnos que se preparan semana tras semana junto a su entrenadora Silvia Laino, batallando contra nuevos desafíos cada día, rindió sus frutos y por tanto son merecedores de toda nuestra admiración y apoyo para afrontar esta última y decisiva etapa.

Felicitamos también a David Foigelman, del colegio ORT que inició sus primeros entrenamientos en nuestro colegio cuando todavía era nuestro alumno.
Felicitamos a todos aquellos que compitieron en esta penúltima etapa y estamos seguros que tendrán su revancha el año próximo:

Immersion Trip

Our Junior 6 students departured to the Immersion Trip

This year's theme is: The Glorious Highland Games and they are ready for them!

The students joined a clan and helped design a crest for their group.

Then each group built a witch and burnt her in order to bring good luck to the games.

They will learn the Scottish dances and sports associated with the highland games and also bake and taste some Scottish food.

Throughout the camp they will learn songs and slang that are typical of Scotland. 

The camp will end with the final tournament as the warriors paint their faces before playing the sports and deciding who is victorious. 

Our students have been divided into 4 clans: McLaren, Gordon, Anderson & Campbell.

A bit of History about the Clan system…

Clans dominated the highlands of Scotland as well as other areas which at the time were remote from the centres of Scottish life and government. They were forged out of different tribes based on family ties. The word clan comes from the gaelic "clann", which means children or descendants. There would always be a clan chief, who took on the responsibility of looking after the people in his area. 

The chief and his children would be the most important figures, but many other clansmen were not blood relations. They would simply be people who lived locally and looked to him for protection. Nevertheless, the clan ties and loyalty were extremely strong - in the case of the Lordship of the isles for instance, the Clan Donald effectively established its own kingdom, with only tenuous ties to the rest of Scotland. 

Most Highlanders would have felt allegiance to their clan first and their country second. They believed in it so much that they were prepared to die for it - which is just as well, because that's often exactly what happened. 

The whole history of the clan system is characterized by feuds, and the chief had to be able to call on his people to serve in his army when he needed them. Clans weren't particularly sophisticated societies, but they worked well enough. The chief was the undisputed ruler, and all his people would have genuine affection for him and trust him implicitly. 

Día del maestro

En nivel inicial, celebraron el Día del Maestro, rindiendo un merecido homenaje a todas las maestras de jardín que con tanto entusiasmo y dedicación, acompañan a nuestros hijos en tan hermosa etapa de sus vidas.

 

En el Nivel Primario, también se realizó el acto de homenaje a Don Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, el cual estuvo a cargo de los alumnos de sexto y séptimo grado.  Actuaciones y canciones rindieron tributo a aquellos que dedican con entusiasmo su vida a educar a nuestros hijos. Disfrutemos un resumen de lo acontecido.

Participación en el certamen regional de Olimpíadas Ñandú

El pasado 1 de septiembre, los 21 alumnos del Nivel Primario clasificados para competir en la etapa regional de las Olimpíadas Ñandú 2016, viajaron hasta el Colegio Cristóforo Colombo para medirse en esta difícil competencia con alumnos de distintos colegios de nuestra ciudad.
Acompañados de su entrenadora, Silvia Laíno, vicedirectora del Nivel Primario y coordinadora de matemáticas del colegio, afrontaron nuevos desafíos que pondrán a aquellos que los puedan superar, en la etapa nacional, última de dicho certamen.

Ansiosos esperamos los resultados de esta competencia, pero con la alegría de ver a nuestros alumnos entusiasmados por resolver cada día nuevos desafíos.

Dual Diploma Student of the Month
